Ling 12, Spring 2009
Place this checklist at the
front of your portfolio.
Check off items as you
complete them.
Eight CLAS tutorials (5% of your course grade)
__ Add your Pre-Tutoring
Checklists to the portfolio. You may substitute a blue CLAS card for a missing
checklist.
· If you were docked some points from your midterm
portfolio for missing CLAS tutorials, those points will be reinstated if you
have completed eight half-hours by June 5. You are responsible for making up
missed tutorials even if they were cancelled by your tutor. To earn full credit
your checklist must show that you attended a full half hour and arrived fully
prepared. If you need more CLAS points, you may attend one or more tutorial
sessions to prepare portfolio papers or a Starting Lines submission.
Three process papers (10% of your course grade)
__ All drafts, outlines,
notes and in-class writing included
__ Every item dated
__ Items arranged in
chronological order
__ Final draft formatted
according to MLA guidelines
__ Works Cited according
to MLA guidelines (at least for final draft)
· The value of each paper at the time of its deadline
was 5% (for a total of 15% for three papers). The portfolio is worth an additional
10%. If you have not substantially revised any of those papers since the
initial grade was assigned, you can expect to receive approximately the same
grade on your portfolio as you earned for the papers individually. On the other
hand, if you have revised some or all of the papers by the time you submit the
portfolio, you can expect to earn a better grade. In any case, the grade
assigned and the points earned at the time of each paper’s deadline will not be
revised.
